Geopolitical Thoughts is an organization dedicated to fostering an educated, healthy debate on the direction of U.S. foreign policy. Geopolitical Thoughts achieves this through through an independent, unbiased analysis of global events with a focus on military actions, displomatic efforts, the energy complex, and long-term threats to the U.S.'s security and peace.

Michael Morford is the Editor for http://www.gpthinking.net/ and http://www.geopoliticalthoughts.net/.

Michael is a former US Army Reserve Captain. He is a college graduate with a BS in Engineering and an MBA in Finance from Tulane University, New Orleans, Louisiana. Michael wore a uniform for 15 years in the Army, be it while on active duty, in the National Guard, ROTC, or the Army Reserves. Michael was honored to receive the distinguished General Douglas MacArthur Leadership Award in 2001 and is a 2-time Louisiana Company-Grade Officer of the Year. A logistics officer, Michael worked on an 8-man war-planning cell for the 377th Theater Support Command. In 2003, Michael was deployed to Kuwait to work a the logistics command center as part of CFLCC.

Michael has been in Wall Street throughout his civilian career. A specialist in the energy sector, he recently joined Key Banc Capital Markets. Previously, he was with Jefferies & Company, Frost Bank, Sanders Morris Harris Group, and Johnson Rice & Company.

Michael remains with the military through the Reserve Officers Association. He was the 2002 Army National Junior Vice President, and currently sits on the Insurance & Financial Services Committee.Michael also remains involved with philanthropy and charitable giving. He is Executive Director of Jalie's Butterflies, a non-profit organization, and sits on the host committee for the Great Investors Best Idea Forum.
